Komodo National Park nestles between the two large islands of Sumbawa and Flores, or about 200 nautical miles east of Bali (home of international travelers). All these islands are a chain of small Indonesia islands group (Lesser Sunda islands - Nusa Tenggara) known as wallace region. Komodo National Park is a home of the giants lizard known as the "Komodo Dragon" it was thought to be a myth until the turn of the century, when fishermen who were forced by a storm to take shelter on Komodo sight the monsters.

BOAT USED TO TRAVEL FROM SAPE (BIMA) TO KOMODO

Traveling to Komodo National Park via Bima (East Sumbawa) may get a little hard to reach Komodo Island. Once you are stepping out from the airport, you are driving of about 1,5 - 2 hours to the east to reach the port of Sape. It takes about 5 - 7 hours to cross the Sape Strait. Our clients make this to be a fun and relax!

The boat is a non air-conditioned!. Our clients are sometimes take their chance to bring their mattresses and blankets to sleep on the deck where there are getting closer to open air - and the real nature.

All crews and skipper are Indonesian and very friendly with Indonesian hospitality to welcome you on board. They have well experience and training to take the boat and our passengers / clients during the trip to Komodo National Park.

We have select to hire a well trained cook from the local who have great rating in serving the excellent taste of Indonesian food for our clients. He is serving all the fresh food cooked on board.


BOAT USED TO TRAVEL FROM LABUAN BAJO TO KOMODO

Traveling to Komodo National Park via Labuan Bajo (Western Part of Flores island) now becomes the most favorite starting point for our clients to make the Komodo Adventure trip. It is an easiest and fastest point to reach the home of the giant lizard. Once you step on Komodo Airport at Labuan Bajo, drive will only about 10 minutes to the harbor where your boat has waited to take you cross the strait to the island. There are beautiful landscape and surrounded by the small islands it takes you slowly down to the Komodo island. Cross the narrow strait entering the Batutiga where by local to believe as the entrance gate to the Komodo island. You may feel and see the skipper plays around with the current. It feels nervous and sometimes as a fun!

Please be aware, the interpretation of a boat with cabins are those similar to a boat we use from Bima to Komodo island. It is designed for a standard and simple trip where passengers will have proper bed and separate toilet and bath.
