Mt.
Kelimutu, 1.690m fifty years ago, had three lakes,
one lake was blue green, one fiery green and one
red. Thirty years later, the colors had changed to
blue, red brown and cafe au lait. Now, Ata Bupu
(Lake) is a dramatic dark-brown. Ata Polo are dark
red-brown, and only Nuwa Muri remains aquamarine or
turquoise as it apparently always was.
No one
can explain the cause of such color changes except
to suppose that different minerals are dissolved in
the waters of each lake at Lake Kelimutu.

Day 01 : Denpasar (Bali) - Ende (Central
Flores) - Bajawa
We will meet and greet you at the hotel in
Bali, then transfer to the airport to catch
your flight for Ende of central Flores
island. Upon arrival at Ipi airport of Ende,
proceed to local restaurant for lunch. Check
in at the hotel. In the afternoon a short
city sightseeing will be made visiting,
First Indonesia president's house, Woloare
view point for Ende town, Penggajawa to see
the blue stone. Dinner and overnight stay at
the hotel in Bajawa.
Day 02 : Bajawa - Bena - Moni/Detusoko
Breakfast at hotel, depart for Bena driving
through huge and gigantic bamboo plantation,
picture Inerie volcano and take short walks
in the vicinity.
Arrive in Bena, see traditional houses and
megalithic tombs, learn the meaning of
Ngadhu and Bhaga, symbolizing male and
female of ancestral spirits. Then driving to
Moni/Detusoko. Lunch at local restaurant in
Ende. Then proceed to Moni or Detusoko,
estimated to arrive in the early evening.
Stay overnight at local standard lodge.
Day 03 : Moni - Lake Kelimutu - Maumere
Wake up at approximately 0430am, your guide
and driver will take you up to the top Mount
Kelimutu. It will take about 45 minutes to
drive. Upon arrival. walk 1,5km from the
park to a view point of the spectacular
lakes Hard Red, light blue and black color.
Please be aware, although this is open for
visitors, we recommend you to respect every
guideline explained by the local guide. This
is one of the most secret lakes on the
island, and it believed to be resting place
for the entire ancestor spirit of Lio tribe.
Drive down to your lodge for breakfast and
shower. In the noon drive to Jopu Ranggase
to visit one of the old traditional house
with some ornament and secret symbols God
manifestation. Lunch served at local
restaurant in Paga. Continue your trip to
Maumere and stay overnight at hotel.
Day 04 : Maumere - Denpasar (Bali)
After an early breakfast at the hotel,
transfer to the airport for your flight to
Denpasar, Bali. Upon your arrival in Bali we
will meet you at the airport and transfer to
your original hotel. |
