Mt.
Kelimutu, 1.690m fifty years ago, had three lakes,
one lake was blue green, one fiery green and one
red. Thirty years later, the colors had changed to
blue, red brown and cafe au lait. Now, Ata Bupu
(Lake) is a dramatic dark-brown. Ata Polo are dark
red-brown, and only Nuwa Muri remains aquamarine or
turquoise as it apparently always was.
No one
can explain the cause of such color changes except
to suppose that different minerals are dissolved in
the waters of each lake at Lake Kelimutu.

Day 01
: Bali - Maumere - Moni
We will pick you up at the hotel in Bali,
transfer to the airport to leave for Maumere
of Central Flores by Merpati Nusantara
Airlines. Upon arrival at Waioti airport of
Maumere, direct drive to Moni, estimate to
arrive in Moni early evening. Check in at
simple hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at
hotel
Day 02 : Moni/Detusoko - Lake Kelimutu -
Ende
Early morning drive up to Kelimutu, see the
three colored lakes. Upon arrival. walk
1,5km to view the spectacular of the Hard
Red, light blue and black color of the
Kelimutu lake. Down to your accommodation
for breakfast and shower, then depart for
Ende, en-route stop at Wolotopo village to
see Ikat weaving made by local women. Then
Ende town the most historical town on Flores
island. Stay overnight at the simple
standard hotel in Ende.
Day 03 : Ende - Maumere
Breakfast at the hotel, depart for Maumere
driving the same road to Maumere, visit Jopu
and Nggela (Lio tribe) traditional villages,
Lunch at local restaurant in Wolowaru or
Paga. We have an opportunity to visit
Elementary school. Dinner and overnight at
hotel in Maumere
Day 04 : Maumere - Denpasar (Bali)
After an early breakfast at the hotel,
transfer to the airport for your flight to
Denpasar, Bali. Upon your arrival in Bali we
will meet you at the airport and transfer to
your original hotel. |
